Bethesda Missionary Center in obedience to Jesus Christ her Lord, is committed to being holy people of God in the world and to building His Church by worldwide evangelism, discipleship and multiplication of growing churches in Colombia and the nations to the glory of God, is a unique blend of the thought and life of Pastor Enrique and his wife who have sought to build their church according to the Scriptures with an appreciation for their historical roots.

Its origins were humble. In fact, the first meeting of Bethesda Missionary Center was held in a very small place on the outskirts of Bogota on May 1, 1975.  A caring atmosphere, quality leadership, and community outreach attracted people from all ages, religious backgrounds, races, and walks of life, Pastor Enrique made a historic mark on the landscape of Christianity. Founding Pastors of Bethesda Missionary Center Pastor Enrique along with his wife Mrs. Melida have touched the lives of millions of people in Colombia and several countries.

Pastor Enrique Gomez has dedicated his life to ministering the saving, healing and delivering power of Jesus Christ all over Colombia and other countries, God put a dream in Pastor´s heart and under the motto “NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE, EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE FOR THE PERSON WHO BELIEVES IN JESUS CHRIST” was founded the church BETHESDA MISSIONARY CENTER, since then the Pastor has ministered God´s power, God´s Word and moves in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Gomez is a man of fire for God and consumed by the compassion of Jesus for the lost and through prayer and fasting which are one of the hallmarks of Bethesda has reached all his dreams in Jesus and without limiting the foregoing, the other purpose of this ministry is to teach Christians  how to fight our spiritual battles  in order to destroy the works of the devil in our generation and to show this evil world the great salvation God, our Father, gave us through His son Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, furthermore, the call of God upon Bethesda has been to bring healing and deliverance, to reach out to people in their troubles, to pray, to fast , to seek and believe Him and to bring people His Word of hope and power.

Pastor Enrique and Pastor Melida were married 30 years ago, through their commitment to each other, their enduring faith in God and determination to obey whatever God told them to do regardless of the cost millions of people have been blessed. Pastor Melida has played a vital role in her husband´s ministry from its beginning, God called her into a special ministry of prayer and through that ministry of compassion she has touched the lives of millions, she brings a refreshing spirit to Bethesda Missionary Center and is especially instrument in focusing the vision of the church on the needs of the entire body of Christ.
Since the beginning the daily attendance began to grow at an extraordinary rate and in 2004 Pastor Enrique moved Bethesda Missionary Center into the million souls´ church a 120.000-seat arena that was once an empty and covered in mud space and now this innovative church is poised for the new millennium.
